"(Social Enterprise..) One way of introducing high-quality provision will be to promote better use of health and social care by ‘third sector’ providers." The idea for our Centre came from Ellen Cullen in 2007. Several years ago a friend of Ellen’s became unwell and was diagnosed with a severe mental health illness. Over the years Ellen watched the immediate and wider impacts of the illness on her friend and family and offered support where she could. Ellen became aware of the need for an alternative whole person approach to services provision – a need for ‘an individualised and wider choice of services, easily accessible and in one place, as a form of intervention to accelerate recovery’. This seed has grown and Active 8 Success has evolved into a team who deliver high quality ‘personalised’ services which enable young adults 18-25 years to reach their best potential and have equal opportunity and participation in society. In 2008 Ellen Cullen and Marian Neeson, Executive Directors, established Active 8 Success as a Social Enterprise organisation which has social aims to achieve its objectives to change peoples lives for the better. Completing the management board are Wendy Eaves LLB (Director), Heather Henderson (Director) and Professor P Kinderman (Key Advisor). Our Core Beliefs
